HHD Mentoring Program Newsletter

June 2017

Dear Alumni Mentors and Student Protégés,

It is with mixed feelings that I write my last e-newsletter for the Alumni Mentoring Program. While I’m excited about the next chapter in my life after retirement June 30, I will greatly miss HHD alumni and students!

I was with HHD when the Alumni Mentoring Program was created in 2002 and supported Abby Diehl in creating a program where both alumni mentors and student protégés could thrive. I was fortunate to become the coordinator of the program in 2005. I truly appreciate the dedication of over 1,400 alumni who have volunteered their time to mentor HHD students and to the more than 1,600 students who took advantage of the opportunity to learn more about their chosen career path.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve our dedicated HHD alumni and students. Your enthusiasm and willingness to participate in this program has been very rewarding. Each of you have contributed to the success of the program and I know you will continue to support each other and the program in the future.

The new coordinator is Jennifer Charney. Please direct questions to her at jmc69@psu.edu or Abby Diehl at abbyd@psu.edu or 814-863-2207. I know she will do an outstanding job in connecting alumni and students in the years to come.

Again, thank you for allowing me the privilege of meeting and working with you. I will certainly miss seeing all of you at the mentoring lunches and dinners and the enthusiasm you bring to the table.

Sincerely,
V. Diane Collins
