The College of Nursing at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park) invites applications for positions of Assistant Professor (tenure track) of Nursing. Faculty will teach in their area of specialty and advance a program of independent research in their area of interest. Candidates whose research interests relate to the broad area of person centered care including palliative care across the lifespan and dissemination and implementation science are encouraged to apply. Rank and salary are competitive and based on the background and experience of the applicant.
Penn State College of Nursing is among the top schools of nursing in the country in NIH funding with robust programs of research in such areas as end of life care, dementia and delirium in the elderly, palliative care and heart failure, sleep, child and adolescent health, and organizational change in complex system. The College of Nursing is home to one of the nine John A. Hartford Centers of Geriatric Nursing Excellence in the country. The College’s graduate program is ranked in the top 10% of nursing schools nationwide according to the US News and World Report and offers a diverse array of master’s options and a Ph.D. program focused on the development of nurse scientists.
The successful candidates will have a master’s degree in nursing and an earned doctorate at the time of employment. Applicants should also have a focused and ongoing program of research, potential for attracting extramural funding, and a documented commitment to teaching and outreach. Excellent opportunities exist for interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty in the College of Health and Human Development, the College of Education, the College of Medicine, and several academic centers within the University.
