The College of Health and Human Development and The School of Nursing invite you to join them in Pink Zone - Breast Cancer Awareness and Lady Lion Basketball

An open invitation to the Health and Human Development and School of Nursing communities

Dear HHD colleagues,

In the interest of combating the winter doldrums and supporting a great cause, the College of Health and Human Development (HHD) in conjunction with the School of Nursing (SON), is organizing a special event.  We are hoping that a large contingency of college and SON faculty, staff, students, alumni, families, and friends will attend the Sunday, January 24, 2010, women’s home basketball game (1:00 p.m. Penn State vs. Illinois at the Bryce Jordan Center).  This game has been set aside for the annual Women’s Basketball Coaches Association “Pink Zone” fundraiser to boost breast cancer awareness. This is a global effort to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities, and beyond.

If you are interested in attending, please contact Barbara King ( or 814-865-4392) in the HHD Dean’s Office to order tickets.  Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for students and youth.  We’ll sit together as a group to cheer when the HHD/SON sponsorship of the event is announced.  If you already have season tickets, you’ll have your own seats but please plan to join us ahead of time for some refreshments. The reception will be held in Room F.  The deadline for buying tickets is Monday, January 11.

Official 2010 “Pink Zone” t-shirts, which are part of the breast cancer awareness fundraising activities, are for sale for $10 at the Penn State Bookstore locations or online at

Please join us to cheer on the survivors.

Best wishes,

Nan Crouter, dean, and Paula Milone-Nuzzo, dean
