Tickets Available for Breast Cancer Fundraiser Basketball Game
January 4, 2011
On February 27, faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the College of Health and Human Development and the School of Nursing are invited to help the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) promote and support breast cancer awareness. The Lady Lions basketball team will play Northwestern University at noon at the Bryce Jordan Center that day, and this game has been designated as the official WBCA Pink Zone game.
HHD and the SON have reserved a block of tickets for the event and will be hosting a pre-game get-together at 11:00 a.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring family and friends to the game.
For more information or to purchase a ticket, contact Barbara King at email@example.com or 814-865-4392.
WBCA Pink Zone is an annual series of events that started in 2007 and now involves more than 250 fundraising high school and college basketball games. Funds from the Penn State event have been donated to organizations including Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, and J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital.
Breast Cancer Survivors in Attendance
Prior to the game, breast cancer survivors can sign up for the Pink Zone's Breast Cancer Survivor Package, which includes up to four free tickets; discounts on additional tickets; and a postgame reception for survivors, their families, and friends. A special half-time ceremony will honor all breast cancer survivors in attendance.
