Ro Nwranski Receives Excellence in Advising Award
Ro Nwranksi, adviser in the College of Health and Human Development, has received a Penn State Excellence in Advising Award.
The award, which was established by the Penn State University Advising Council and the Office of Undergraduate Education, annually honors one full-time faculty member and one full-time professional adviser from any Penn State location who have at least two years of advising experience. Selection criteria are based on excellence in general advising, academic and career guidance, enthusiasm and assistance in decision-making, and goal setting.
Nwranski has been an adviser in the College of Health and Human Development since 2001. Prior to joining the college, she was a student aid adviser in the Penn State Office of Student Aid from 1988 to 2001. From 1982 to 1988, she was an admissions counselor at the South Hills School of Business and Technology.
In 1997, Nwranski received the Outstanding Mentor Award from the Penn State Center for Adult Learner Services. She also has received a Focus on Adult Students Award from Penn State Continuing Education that year.
Nwranski earned a bachelor’s degree in general arts and sciences in 1982 and a M.Ed. degree in counselor education in 1991, both at Penn State.
