Rebecca Miller, 2013 College of Health and Human Development Student Marshal

Rebecca Miller, daughter of Karl and Mary Ann Miller of Hazle Township, Pennsylvania, will receive a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders and minors in human development and family studies and in dance at spring 2013 commencement ceremonies on May 4, 2013. During her undergraduate years at Penn State, she maintained a 4.00 grade-point average. She also received a President’s Freshman Award, a President Spark’s Award, an Evan Pugh Junior Award, and an Evan Pugh Senior Award from Penn State.

In addition to her achievements in class, Rebecca was a member and student director of the University Dance Company and a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the Health and Human Development Honor Society. She also conducted research on the use of visual supports in communication and education, was a teaching assistant, and was a volunteer at Dragonfly Forest Summer Camp.

Rebecca has been accepted to the speech language pathology master’s degree program at the University of Pittsburgh.

She will be escorted at the ceremony by the College of Health and Human Development faculty marshal, Constance Kossan, instructor in communication sciences and disorders.
