An Innovative, Interdisciplinary PhD Program

Biobehavioral Health (BBH) is unique in that it provides training at the intersection of biological, psychological/behavioral, social/environmental, and cultural influences on health and disease throughout the lifespan.

Our in-person PhD program is designed to train and develop the next leaders in basic, mechanistic, and applied research that addresses fundamental issues in health and prevention. Our graduates work in diverse settings, including academia, research centers, government, health care, and private industry.

About the Program

Our training and research falls into three primary domains as they relate to health: Biological, including Neuroscience and Genetics; Psychological, including Behavior and Social Sciences; and Public health, including Global Health and Health Policy.
