The Department of Kinesiology recently renovated the Kinesiology Tower to now offer upgraded facilities for students in the undergraduate program pursuing the applied exercise and health option. These spaces include applied learning classrooms, where students learn the theories that provide the foundation for their skill set, and lab areas supplied with the necessary equipment for them to put these skills into practice.

The applied learning classrooms are more than lecture spaces. They are hubs for critical thinking, small-group brainstorming, and creative problem-solving. Students take ideas developed in discussion and walk just steps away to the lab to put theory into immediate action.

In the lab space, students apply their classroom knowledge to practice and develop real-world coaching and teaching skills. Watching movement and physical performance happen in real time helps them connect theory with practice in meaningful ways.

In the Department of Kinesiology, learning is hands-on. Students conduct movement assessments, use advanced equipment, and provide feedback and instruction on the spot.

With faculty offices now located just minutes away, meetings that once required careful coordination now happen easily. A quick conversation after class or an impromptu lab observation is all it takes for students to build connections with faculty and the program.

These new applied learning spaces represent more than just upgraded facilities; they reflect the Department of Kinesiology’s commitment to student success, collaboration, and community. Every space in the department is designed to help kinesiology students learn, connect, and thrive.
