Joining the CCOR team has allowed Erika to build on her previous research to examine parents’ contributions to children’s appetite regulation, obesity, and other health-related outcomes.

Research Interests

Her previous research has focused on familial socialization of children’s socio-emotional development, including emotion regulation, emotion understanding, and social competence. She is especially interested in the socio-cultural context of socialization and has conducted work with African American, Latinx, and Appalachian families.
