Heather Shevchik O'Brien

Heather currently works at the University Health Center taking care of Penn State students. As a jack of all trades, the physician assistant profession suited her professional interests. Heather enjoys being able to work in a variety of settings and studying various aspects of medicine. She previously worked in the surgical setting doing spine and joint replacements in orthopedics in the Lehigh Valley, then returned to Happy Valley and transitioned to an urgent care setting. Her Penn State roots drew her back to Happy Valley.

Heather majored in Kinesiology at Penn State, earning her B.S. in 2006, and she later attended DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, where she earned her where she earned her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010.  When she’s not at work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and growing family outside and has an affinity for household projects.
