Responsibilities
Research, Budget & Office Administration Support
- Manages all financial aspects of the Center's general operating budget and endowment awards
- Manages the Center’s research operating budgets and provides post award budget management for externally funded grants, maintaining accountability for budget expenditures for research conducted by faculty, staff, and graduate research assistants
- Works closely with Center Director in developing and forecasting budgets
- Manages and coordinates grant and contract proposal submissions
- Provides support to a variety of research projects
- Assists in journal manuscript submissions
- Advises faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations. Prepares entries and audits post award and general funds
- Serves as a liaison with various College and University Offices including Human Resources and Finance. Administers research projects and provides general project planning
- Functions as the Center's Human Resources liaison and provides administration and resource management across multiple externally funded research projects
- Tracks staff time allocation needed across projects and advises on resource allocations; tracks grant proposals under review and the staffing implications of each; tracks outreach and development of new opportunities and may assist in scoping new projects; partners with pre-award staff person on proposal submissions
- Oversees daily Center functions and operations; provides advice and consultation on complex matters
- Assists in the planning, execution, and monitoring of the Center’s strategic plan
- Tracks progress towards goals and targets
- Supports the completion presentations and annual reports
- Assists with grant reports to funders; and performs advanced and confidential administrative duties and responsibilities
- Coordinates domestic and international events and travel for faculty, staff and graduate students
Communications and Website Support
- Coordinates dissemination of project publications, presentations, reports and research summaries
- Develops communications for email distribution
