Tara is a research genetic counselor with 14 years of experience in providing genetic counseling for adult onset complex disease and pharmacogenomics, research biobanking, and precision health research. She joined Geisinger in 2017 to further explore her research interests, which center on the development of alternative genetic counseling service delivery models. Her current project investigates how technology can be leveraged to facilitate communication between healthcare professionals and patients.

Tara earned her B.S. in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State University in 2002, followed by her M.S. in Genetic Counseling from Arcadia University in 2006. She is the current president of the Biobehavioral Health Affiliate Program Group, which provides mentoring and award recognition to students and facilitates professional networking across all career stages.
