The Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic is a fee-for-service clinic. Services are provided to the general public at competitive rates. Discounted rates are available to Penn State students. At this time, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) are the only approved third-party payors. If you have GHP, you must bring a referral from your primary care physician and your insurance card to the assessment. To learn the amount of your co-pay, contact your GHP representative.

For all other payor sources, the client is responsible for payment to the clinic for services rendered, then submitting billing sheets to the payor source for personal reimbursement.

Beginning January 1, 2017, the clinic will implement a sliding scale discount based upon household size and income.

Eligibility criteria for this program were developed from the Federal Poverty Guidelines, based on family size and income. To be considered for this program, you need to complete an application and submit acceptable proof of income for all adults in the household. If you do not wish to submit an application or you do not qualify based on the proof of income received, you will be responsible for the full charges.

Students and speech language pathologists in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Penn State value the educational experiences you provide and look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your family members. If you have any questions or concerns about the clinic sliding fee scale, please contact the clinic director, Anne Marie Kubat, at: or 814-867-6212.
