PASS SPACE

PASS is a collection of disk drives that are maintained by the central IT group at Penn State, ITS. Both personal PASS space and Departmental (project) PASS space are available to all faculty, staff, and students of the University. Personal PASS is free; Departmental and Project PASS is provided free by our College up to 100GB per account (metered out as needed). Directions are available for filling out a Department or Project space application.

You can access your PASS space via a mapped drive, just like the type of mapped drives available in Windows. Once mapped and logged in, reading and writing files to PASS is no different than if the files were on your local disk. PASS files are also backed up on a reguar basis.
