Cynthia A. Stifter Professor of Human Development and Psychology Ph.D. Human Development, 1987, University of Maryland Cindy's research interests focus on socio-emotional development in early childhood, specifically how temperament, its physiological bases, and the parenting environment each and together contributes to the development of mental and physical health.

Penina Backer B.S. Psychology (2009), University of Maryland, Baltimore County Penina is interested in the influences of temperament and family context on young children's healthy socioemotional development. She enjoys arts 'n crafts, music, and spending time with friends and family.
