Penn State Night at The Phillies - April 22, 2013

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association hopes that your new year has produced many new ideas and possibilities for growth. We also wish that your new plans blossom in the fast-approaching Spring!

We are writing with a fantastic opportunity for partnership between our local groups—the Philadelphia Phillies home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday, April 22 (7:05 p.m. start). The game is also a Dollar Dog Night. We would like to partner with you to sell tickets for the game, which will raise funds for our respective organizations. Per each ticket we sell—which are priced at $24 and $26—we (collectively) will receive $8.00 per ticket. The proceeds would be split among the partnering groups to support the initiatives of each group’s choosing.

If 500 tickets or more are sold, we also receive additional benefits from the Phillies, including:

  • Having a group on the field for batting practice
  • Someone to throw out the first pitch
  • 4 VIP seats
  • Promotional message on the video board

The partnering organizations would determine a fair way to allocate these benefit.

We have created two event pages, which you can review and use to pass along the information. If partnership does occur, we would update them accordingly. We have until March 22 to sell tickets before the Phillies begin releasing the unsold ones in our block back to the public.

As you consider this opportunity with your respective groups, please keep us up to date with your decisions. If you choose to partner with us, please reply by Friday, March 1, in order to give everyone as much time as possible to sell tickets. We firmly believe that it is a great opportunity not only to make money, but to spend time with fellow Penn Staters, eat cheap hot dogs, and enjoy a cross-state rivalry. At a minimum, we hope you consider advertising the event.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from, and possibly working with, you. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
