Pushing the boundaries and making a difference

The College of Health and Human Development at Penn State supports four different world-class research centers that serve our communities — both locally and and around the globe — with innovative breakthroughs and significant discoveries that make real-world impacts.

Through a wide array of initiatives driven by our esteemed faculty mentors and powered with the help of our competent student researchers, we tackle research projects that impact national news headlines nearly every day — from minimizing the symptoms of chronic illness to managing stress through recreational activities, discovering new learning interventions, clarifying the myths and realities surrounding concussions in athletes, and so much more.
