Integrated undergraduate/graduate programs
Earn two degrees in five years
HPA has several integrated programs that allow qualified undergraduate students to earn their bachelor's degree in Health Policy and Administration and a master's degree in one of the following options in just five years of full-time academic study:
- Master of Health Administration (MHA) -or-
- Master of Public Health (MPH) degree -or-
- Master of Public Policy -or-
- Master of International Affairs
- Integrated B.S. in Health Policy and Administration/Master of Health Administration

As an Integrated BS/MHA student, you’ll be able to earn both degrees in five years by combining Bachelor- and Master-level classes in your fourth and fifth years of study.
In this unique multidisciplinary program, you’ll get instruction from outstanding faculty with excellent academic training and industry experience; curriculum that combines rigorous academic experiences and extensive opportunities for engaged, practical training; and supportive advising and mentoring. By the time you graduate, you'll be ready to tackle the most pressing issues in any health care environment.
Students interested in the accelerated program must have successfully completed 60 credits and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or above.

Students apply to the program during their junior year through the Penn State Graduate School (not SOPHAS). Applications must be submitted by April 1.
*Note: Before applying to the program, IUG candidates must meet with their HPA Academic Adviser to complete the following:
- Determine if GPA meets minimum requirement of a 3.4 after the Fall semester of your junior year
- Explore the number of remaining undergraduate credits
- Develop a plan of study which must be submitted as part of the application
- One letter of recommendation from an HPA faculty member, including assessment of your readiness for graduate education

- Integrated B.S. in Health Policy and Administration/Master of Public Health

Penn State College of Health and Human Development and the Penn State College of Medicine Department of Public Health Sciences offers an accelerated degree for undergraduates at University Park enrolled in the undergraduate Health Policy and Administration (HPA) program. HPA students can earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree as part of this new IUG.
Those enrolled in the program have four years to complete their undergraduate coursework at University Park, then complete their MPH degree in Hershey. Students interested in the accelerated program must have a GPA of 3.25 or above. The MPH degree requires 42 credits, of which 12 can be double counted. HPA students take some graduate-level courses during their senior year of their undergraduate degree.

Those enrolled in the program have four years to complete their undergraduate and graduate coursework at University Park. Students interested in the accelerated program must have a GPA of 3.2 or above.

As an Integrated BS/MIA student, the program provides an opportunity for academically strong students to complete a bachelor of science degree in health policy and administration and master's degree in international affairs in approximately five years of study. As future global leaders attempting to remedy and resolve some of the world's most challenging issues, this program will help prepare the next generation of health professionals to work in an increasingly globalized industry.
Those enrolled in the program have four years to complete their undergraduate and graduate coursework at University Park.
