Scholarships and Financial Aid
The Department of Kinesiology recognizes its students with a number of scholarships and awards. Funds are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, school/community activities, leadership positions, and work experience. The Department of Kinesiology offers scholarships/awards for undergraduates and graduate students as indicated, and in some cases require enrollment in a specific option.
Scholarships in the Department of Kinesiology
The Department of Kinesiology has two scholarships available, the Rumpelstielzchen Student Endowment in Exercise and Sport Science, and the Marie Underhill Noll Endowment for Undergraduate Research in Exercise and Sport Science. These scholarships are offered as summer internship experiences and require additional application processes.
Scholarships in the College of Health and Human Development
To recognize the accomplishments of our students, the College of Health and Human Development awards scholarships on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, school/community activities, leadership positions, and work experience. Students must be enrolled in the College of Health and Human Development. Some scholarships and awards require enrollment in a specific major.
No Application Required for Most HHD Scholarships
All currently enrolled HHD students, currently enrolled Penn State students intending to transfer to the College prior to Fall 2012, incoming freshmen and students transferring from a college outside of the Penn State system will be automatically considered for all scholarships and awards for which they are eligible.
A small number of scholarships/awards require an application. Students who are determined to be eligible for such scholarships and awards will be contacted and encouraged to apply. Financial Need
Some scholarships and awards consider financial need. In order to be eligible it is advised that you complete the 2012-2013 FAFSA application by Penn State's recommended filing date of February 15. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the application.
