Hello Alumni Mentors and Student Protégés:

The Huffington Post, The Blog, features articles from influential business entrepreneurs. One of their regular contributors is Rajesh Setty who describes himself as a “serial entrepreneur” in Silicon Valley. He recently wrote about “9 Characteristics of a Good Mentoring Relationship.” After reading the article, identify whether these characteristics are part of your mentoring relationship.

Sincerely,
V. Diane Collins
Alumni Mentoring Program Coordinator

Staying Connected

We are looking forward to the new academic year and the many activities and events available for alumni mentors and student protégés to connect. Remember, mentoring relationship are to stay active until the student graduates. Those alumni mentors and student protégés matched last fall semester become the “continuing” cohort for this year. We encourage you to stay connected with one another, not only electronically, but also by planning to meet during a home or away football game, a THON canning weekend, or during Penn State Homecoming activities. You can also plan to meet at one of the many lectures sponsored by academic units and research centers such as the Bennett Lecture in Prevention Science and the Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series.
