Earn a B.S. and M.S. in Nutritional Sciences in 5 years

Build advanced knowledge and research skills while earning both a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences through a five-year integrated undergraduate-graduate (IUG) program.

Program Overview

The integrated undergraduate-graduate M.S. in Nutritional Sciences is an accelerated five-year program that allows qualified Nutritional Sciences students to earn a B.S. and M.S. in Nutritional Sciences in five years of full-time study.

The program is designed for students who want to deepen their understanding of nutritional sciences, gain substantial research experience and prepare for careers or further education in nutritional sciences and related fields.

The M.S. degree requires 30 credits, with up to 12 credits eligible to count toward both the bachelor's and master's degree requirements. Students complete advanced coursework and research training before completing a master's thesis based on their research.

Gain Hands-on Research Experience

Research is at the center of the M.S. IUG program. Students work with a faculty mentor and participate in research that aligns with their interests.

Through advanced coursework and hands-on research, students will develop skills in research methodology, data collection and analysis, scientific communication, and other areas related to their research focus.

As part of the program, students complete a master's thesis that allows them to explore a research question in depth and apply the skills they develop. Research experiences may also provide opportunities to present findings at conferences or contribute to scholarly publications.

Students are encouraged to connect with potential faculty mentors to learn more about faculty members' labs and research areas before applying to the IUG program.
