Fulbright U.S. Student Program and Peace Corps Overview

The session scheduled for March 18 has been cancelled. If you are interested in reviewing the presentation slides on your own, please register for the event so that the Fellowships office can send you its materials. If there are questions about Fulbright after receiving the presentation slides, appointments over Zoom can be scheduled with the Fellowships office through Starfish. If there are questions about the Peace Corps, please email Andrew Maguire at peacecorps@psu.edu.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Overview

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship offers funding for 3 years of research-based Master's and/or Ph.D. study in approved STEM fields in the US. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. Join us to learn about the application process and what goes into making a competitive application.

  • How to critically think about, find, evaluate, use, and produce information.
  • Have the skills needed to explain to and teach others about the research process.
  • How to be savvy users of library resources.
  • How the research process is iterative, collaborative, and fun!

Francis Hoffman Award for Excellence in Writing

Nominations due by March 27

Nominations are now being accepted for the Francis Hoffman Award for Excellence in Writing. Faculty and/or students may nominate any paper written by any Health and Human Development undergraduate student in the Summer 2019, Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 for the award. Papers can include any paper written for a class, a chapter of a thesis, article submitted for publication, or other forms of professional writing. Self-nominations are accepted. Nomination forms are available in each HHD department main office and on the website. Individuals submitting a nomination should attach a copy of the form on the reverse side to the paper to be submitted. Nominations should be dropped off to the locations indicated on the form.

City Semester Pittsburgh is a unique learning experience for Penn State students of all majors and backgrounds.
