The Penn State Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center invites you to join via ZOOM a free webinar open to the public as a part of its MoneyCounts: A Financial Literacy Series program.

  • Why is identity theft a problem? How do you protect yourself/others?
  • Reduce the risk of becoming a victim of identity theft.

Lavender Graduation

Friday, April 17, 6:00 p.m., HUB - Heritage Hall

Lavender Graduation is an annual ceremony conducted on numerous campuses to honor and acknowledge lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and ally graduating students and to recognize their achievements and contributions to the university. Graduating students, including undergraduates and graduates, are invited to take part in the celebration, which occurs each year prior to university-wide commencement events. Register here.

Sustainability Showcases

The Council of Sustainable Leaders will be hosting weekly Sustainability Showcases this spring, aimed at making connections between faculty scholarship, individuals personal and professional curiosity and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - broadening involvement in the discourse surrounding sustainability. This year, the theme for the showcase series is: The Time is Now. Complimentary meals (vegan options available) will be provided to attendees who RSVP in advance.

Africana Research Center Event

The Africana Research Center will co-sponsor a lecture by Emory University’s Carol Anderson on her book on African American voter access “One Person, No Vote” at 4 p.m. April 23 in the HUB Auditorium. The event is co-sponsored by the McCourtney Institute for Democracy, Humanities Institute and Richards Civil War Era Center. It is part of the College of the Liberal Arts 2020 theme, “A Century of Women’s Activism.”

"Still Here" Exhibition

The HUB-Robeson Galleries will present "Still Here," an exhibition of eight films, from Jan. 21 to March 22, 2020, in the first floor HUB Gallery in the HUB-Robeson Center. All are welcome to a free, informal celebration from 4-6 p.m. on Jan. 21. Curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah, Kiara Ventura and Dexter Wimberly, "Still Here" explores stories of migration, displacement and survival by eight artists that represent a spectrum of the African Diaspora.


EarthTalks is a semester-long interdisciplinary seminar series that seeks to engage the University and broader community in examining some of the complex environmental challenges facing the world today. The talks, which are free and open to the public, begin at 4 p.m. every Monday in 112 Walker Building. Upcoming Earth Talks:
