About PGM Alumni Group

The PGM Alumni Group is an Affiliate Program Group chartered by the College of Health of Human Development.   Affiliate Program Groups (APGs) are chartered by their college or campus alumni society. APGs are similar to societies, with the exception that this connection is focusing on the promotion and development of the academic department rather than the entire college or campus. Some APG activities include networking, mentoring, and student recruitment. An Affiliate Program Group (APG) consists of alumni or friends of Penn State who have a common interest in a particular academic, professional, or extracurricular activity that is related to a specific college or campus program.

Because of dedicated alumni, students from our PGM program are continually exposed to many new facets of the golf industry. With help from our alumni network, we are able to offer amazing internship opportunities at world-famous golf courses and bring in some of the most influential leaders in the golf industry for seminars and events. These connections help to bring tremendous insight to our students, providing guidance for future career paths as PGA professionals.

Many of our PGM alumni are combining their success in business management with their love for the game of golf. Although not all of them continue to work in traditional areas of the golf industry, our alums use their skills and knowledge gained through the PGA Golf Management program to be successful professionals while growing in the game of golf.

Our alumni reside and work all over the United States, including Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York, Philadelphia Cricket Club, Oakmont Country Club, Augusta National, Kings Creek Country Club in Delaware as well as right here in Happy Valley.

In addition to having access to a large and successful alumni network, members of our alumni group will also have the opportunity to become part of this unique Penn State network for life. Each incoming PGA Golf Management class features a small number of students who have the opportunity to bond and grow together, giving them the benefits of a large university with the personal attention of a small group of classmates. By staying connected to graduates of our program, our PGA Golf Management alumni continue that fine tradition beyond graduation.
