Haley Toadvine was an emergency room volunteer at Mount Nittany Medical Center, taught health literary skills and the English language to immigrants through the Mid-State Health Literacy Council, and completed internships at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Hospital where she assisted in head and neck cancer research. She was a teaching assistant for biology courses, a learning assistant for anatomy and psychology courses, and worked in the Cognition, Affect, and Temperament Laboratory in the Department of Psychology. She raised money for the 2019 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon and was a social chair and alumni relations chair for Phi Gamma Nu. Toadvine, a 2018 Evan Pugh Senior Award winner, also studied in Barcelona, Spain during summer 2018. Following graduation, she will begin an accelerated degree program in nursing.
