Zixin's research focuses on the development of child emotion regulation and parent–child interactions, with particular interest in how individual, family, and environmental factors shape children’s stress responses and psychological resilience across development.

She plans to examine how parenting practices, family relationships, and children’s temperament or regulatory abilities contribute to adaptive coping and mental health outcomes.
