Jacob Benedict

Jacob Benedict comes from a diverse professional background in hospitality management and real estate. Graduating from Penn State University in 2011 with a major in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management.  

During his tenure on the Alumni Society Board from 2017 to 2023, with a role on the student engagement/careers committee.  As chairman, he aligned with the Society’s strategic plan and followed through with monthly planning calls to foster connection between alumni and students.  

Following graduation, Jacob embarked on a successful career in the hospitality industry, accumulating over 8 years of experience in country club management. His journey saw him progress from roles in the Food and Beverage department to ultimately serving as Assistant General Manager, where he oversaw seven operating departments and consistently delivered results in dynamic and demanding environments. 

In 2018, Jacob transitioned into the real estate industry, initially focusing on the Siesta Key and Lakewood Ranch markets in Florida. Demonstrating adaptability and a strategic mindset, he expanded his services to cover a broader geographical area, extending from Clearwater Beach to Fort Myers. Maintaining his real estate licensee status in Florida, Jacob shifted his focus towards working with investor clients, leveraging his expertise to facilitate successful transactions. 

In 2021, Jacob relocated full-time to South Dakota, assuming a leadership role in launching two franchise real estate offices in Sioux Falls and Rapid City under the esteemed Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand. Holding broker licenses in South Dakota and neighboring Iowa, Jacob adeptly balances sales production with effective office management, ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction. 

Beyond his professional achievements, Jacob has a passion for equestrian pursuits, stemming from his time on the equestrian team at Penn State University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his horses and dogs, finding a balance between work and personal interests. 

Jacob is excited to be considered for the executive committee role of Member At Large, to continue alignment with strategic plans and continuity from past initiatives.
