Henderson Building - A Proud History

Henderson Building — A home to generations students in the college
Built in 1933, Henderson Building has been a continual pillar to students, providing them a home on campus for nearly a century.
A legacy building in the heart of campus
From its roots in its early academic programs, like Home Economics, to today, Henderson Building remains a central location for supporting students in their academic journeys.
Students continue to be introduced to the College of Health and Human Development and its academic programs through the doorway of Henderson Building.
Tours, orientations, advising sessions, are largely initiated in Henderson Building. Students also have dedicated, student-centered spaces in Henderson for study, student groups, and relationship-building.
A lasting transformation for future Penn Staters
The college and University are committed to student success, prioritizing it with the vision of a modern-day student success center that will be part of the Henderson Building renovation.
The transformation will help ensure that Henderson Building remains a welcoming, central home for the experiences of all students in the College of Health and Human Development for decades to come.
A modern-day student success center to serve as a "front door" for students, families, and prospective students. In addition, the transformation will help modernize advising, academic coaching, career guidance, life-skills development, all of which will continue to occur in Henderson Building.
