Interests

Areas of expertise include voice expansion training for teens and adults who are gender diverse and/or nonbinary, gender affirming voice training for teens and adults who are transgender and/or gender fluid, and evaluation and treatment for children, teens and adults who stutter. 

Professional Experience

Previous instructional areas for Penn State include undergraduate courses in clinical phonetics and voice health, disorders and differences and graduate level training in stuttering and fluency disorders. 

Prior to starting at Penn State in 1999, provided speech-language pathology services for 18 years in a variety of settings including skilled nursing facilities/long-term care units working with geriatric clients with communication challenges and swallowing disorders, public and private schools working with students ages 5 through 21 and in an infant development program working with infants and toddlers from birth through three years of age.
