Courtney Szocs
Courtney Szocs is Associate Professor of Marketing in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University. Courtney’s research interests are in the domain of sensory marketing and retailing. She investigates how sensory cues in the retail ambience (e.g., music, lighting) and associated with product design (e.g., texture, visual aesthetics) influence consumers’ product perceptions and consumption decisions. Many of her projects are in the domain of food. Her work is published in marketing journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Consumer Research, among other outlets. Courtney has also published in food journals such as Food Quality & Preference and Appetite. Courtney serves as Associate Editor at Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, and Journal of Business Research and as a member of the editorial review board at Journal of Marketing Research.
