Janelle Rushton is a seasoned advancement professional with expertise in donor cultivation, major gift solicitation, and annual giving strategy implementation within higher education institutions. Currently serving as a Gift Officer at King’s College, she excels in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding prospects capable of making transformative gifts.

With previous roles at Thomas Jefferson University, Widener University, and the West Chester University Foundation, Rushton has demonstrated exceptional leadership in affinity giving, annual giving, and volunteer management. She has successfully managed volunteer programs, coordinated multi-channel solicitation strategies, and overseen donor recognition events, driving increased donor participation and revenue.

Beyond her professional commitments, Rushton is deeply engaged in volunteer activities, serving in organizations such as the Junior League of Wilkes-Barre, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter.  

Rushton is a 2015 alumna of the Penn State College of Health and Human Development. In addition to her involvement mentioned above, she has volunteered her time for multiple Penn State groups including the Philadelphia Chapter of the Alumni Association, the Human Development and Family Studies Alumni Group, the Hazleton Alumni Society, and the Health and Human Development Alumni Society. She is also a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association. 

Driven by a commitment to excellence and a passion for making a difference, Rushton continues to be a driving force in advancing philanthropic initiatives and fostering meaningful connections between donors and institutional priorities.
