Professional Experience

My career began at Penn State began in the College of Agricultural Sciences, where I developed a unique blend of research, teaching, and global leadership expertise. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with rural and urban communities worldwide, gaining a deep understanding of agriculture’s intricate relationship with people’s lives, communities, and overall health. The nature of my scholarships spanned into an intricate web of understanding the nature of youth and community development within the nuances of rural communities in the Global South and the, where I have led research teams and collaborated with Ministries of Agriculture and Education to address local challenges and enhance community resilience. These experiences, coupled with bridging technical expertise and social impact, have provided me with a nuanced perspective on the power of youth and communities to shape resilient and healthy societies.

As Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, my role centers on fostering a culture where faculty and students can thrive. Through an inclusive, equity-driven approach, I am dedicated to creating an environment that prioritizes academic excellence, well-being, and community engagement. I support faculty in their professional development, offering resources and opportunities that empower them to excel in teaching, research, and service. By cultivating culturally responsive practices and policies, I aim to build a foundation of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity across the college.

My leadership focuses on embedding these values within every aspect of faculty affairs, from recruitment and retention to mentorship and advancement. This holistic approach ensures that all voices are valued, fostering a space where faculty and students alike feel empowered to contribute meaningfully. Together, we are building a thriving community that reflects our commitment to social equity and educational innovation.
