Neural control of biological and bionic hands. Neural-machine interface and neural stimulation techniques target sensory and motor functions of the hand in individuals after stroke, traumatic brain injury, or limb loss. Home-based health monitoring for continuous assessment of motor impairment and facilitation of home-based neural rehabilitation.
Dr. Hu’s research focuses on neural control of biological and bionic hands. He develops neural-machine interface and neural stimulation techniques to help restore sensory and motor functions of the hand in individuals after stroke, traumatic brain injury, or limb loss. He is also interested in home-based health monitoring approaches that can continuously assess motor impairment and facilitate home-based neural rehabilitation.
