Marci is interested in child maltreatment and related public policy to prevent child maltreatment, including child welfare involvement and foster care placement. Additionally, she is interested in maternal substance use and the implications for child welfare actions, including reunification following child removal from care. Related to all of these things, she also focuses on variables such as family access to resources (food, housing, medical/mental health care), and the social support systems that can support mothers in their role as a parent.
