Technician working with a patient.

Providing infrastructure and services for investigators who conduct research with humans requires working in partnership with those investigators to implement and complete clinical research protocols.

The team at Penn State's Clinical Research Center, a service unit in Penn State's Clinical and Translational Science Institute, leverages a highly collaborative, research-focused approach to transfer advancements in basic medical knowledge to the clinical arena, investigate the pathogenic mechanisms of disease, and develop strategies that promote both health promotion and disease prevention.  The Center's highly experienced research staff includes registered nurses, research coordinators, dietitians, pharmacists, research support staff, and administrative personnel. A story in the Penn State news showcased the CRC and its role in the research community at University Park (note- current Nurse Manager is Cyndi Flanagan).

With over $800 million in annual research expenditures, Penn State ranks among the top 20 U.S. research universities, and is one of only two institutions in the nation accorded land grant, sea grant, sun grant, and space grant status. As researchers, we look to serve our community, both locally and globally, with innovative breakthroughs and significant discoveries that make real-world change for the better.
