HHD Alumni Society Awards

The Edith Pitt Chace Award recognizes an outstanding student leader and scholar in the College of Health and Human Development (University Park.)

The Got Grit Award recognizes a student in the College of at least sophomore standing  (University Park or World Campus) who has demonstrated progressive and positive growth in their performance and who has perseverance and passion in pursuit of their education. 

The Student Service Award recognizes service by a student in the College of Health and Human Development to the College of Health and Human Development, to Penn State, and to the community. Nominees should be enrolled full-time in an HHD major at University Park or a College of Health and Human Development World Campus program. 

The Alumni Recognition for Student Excellence is presented to a senior in each academic unit of the College for outstanding performance, achievement, and contributions within their major. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 within their major and be enrolled full-time at University Park's College of Health and Human Development or a College of Health and Human Development World Campus program. 
Students are nominated for this award by their respective departments.  Note: Internal nominations for Student Excellence are due January 15, 2025.  

The Faculty Appreciation Award honors a current College of Health and Human Development faculty member who actively promotes relationships among students, faculty and staff members, and alumni above and beyond the demands of his/her job.

The Staff Appreciation Award, which is sponsored by the College of Health and Human Development Alumni Society, honors a current College of Health and Human Development staff member who actively promotes relationships among students, faculty and staff members, and alumni above and beyond the demands of his/her job.

The Alumni Service Award recognizes an alumnus or alumna of the College of Health and Human Development who has positively impacted the quality of people's lives through service to others above and beyond their call of duty.  Nominees must have graduated in an HHD major at University Park or a College of Health and Human Development World Campus program. 

The Alumni Recognition Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna of the College of Health and Human Development who has demonstrated professional excellence and exemplary voluntary community involvement in a health and human development field.  Nominees must have graduated in an HHD major at University Park or a College of Health and Human Development World Campus program.

The Emerging Professional–Graduate Degree Award and the Emerging Professional–Undergraduate Degree Award recognize graduates of the past ten years who have demonstrated professional excellence and/or exemplary voluntary community involvement in the health and human development professions.  Nominees must have graduated in an HHD major at University Park or a College of Health and Human Development World Campus program.
