The research of the HDFS faculty and students addresses a range of issues regarding gender and biological sex. Some research targets sex differences in health and well-being including illuminating fundamental mechanisms and patterns of behavioral and social functioning relevant to health and the ways and how sex and gender have implications for individuals’ responses to prevention and intervention programs. Other research focuses on sexual minority and gender non-conforming youth, including the challenges to and supports for their health and development during adolescence and young adulthood.
