Marshall Raffel Student Showcase

Marshall Raffel Student Showcase in Health Policy and Administration

The Marshall Raffel Student Showcase provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate Health Policy and Administration students to showcase their work. Students may elect to showcase work in a variety of categories including, but not limited to, research, international experiences, internship experiences, residency experiences, team-based projects including case competitions, capstone projects, and policy briefs. Graduate students and undergraduate students will be evaluated alongside their peers, meaning graduate submissions will be evaluated separately from undergraduate submissions.

If you are uncertain if your work meets the guidelines, please contact Christina Daley at cxd249@psu.edu.

Students may self-nominate; however, we encourage students to discuss the process with a faculty member who can provide substantive guidance to strengthen each student submission.

University Park poster presentations will take place in person on February 28 from 3-5 p.m. Commonwealth campus and World Campus students have the option of presenting virtually. Virtual poster presentations will take place on February 26 from 12-2 p.m. and February 27 from 5-7 p.m.

Submission Deadline: February 14, 2025

Students interested in showcasing their work should follow these steps:

  1. Review the evaluation rubric before starting the design of your poster. This will outline the required elements.
  2. View the Professional Poster Workshop recording. The Penn State University Libraries' Poster Creation and Presentation Guide is also an excellent resource to complement the poster workshop recording.
  3. Go to postersession.com and select "Free Poster Templates". You will then select "Special Size Poster templates". Select the size 24"x36"; you may choose the vertical or horizontal poster layout template. IMPORTANT NOTE: only posters sized at 24"x36" will be accepted.
  4. Create your professional electronic poster using the guidance provided in the video, resources, and postersessions.com template. Save your work.
  5. Complete the submission form on this page; attach the professional electronic poster of your work.
  6. Submit the photo release form.
  7. Present your poster at the annual Health Policy and Administration Student Showcase (see important dates below). The department will print your poster for you free of charge. On the day of the event, you will display the poster and answer questions from attendees, including evaluators.
  8. Evaluators will provide additional feedback as applicable. The top three undergraduate and top three graduate presenters will be invited to have their posters displayed at the prestigious Stanley P. Mayers Endowed Lecture.
  9. Finalists will present their posters at the Stanley P. Mayers Endowed Lecture (see important dates below). After the final rankings of posters, awards will be presented at the Mayers Lecture event.

For questions about the process, please contact Christina Daley at cxd249@psu.edu.
