Welcome to the Stress & Immunity Lab

Research Overview: This lab focuses on how stress, age, gender, and hormones affect immunity, inflammation, and health; also the feasibility of biomarkers for predicting health outcomes.              

 

Research Interests:

  • Stress, inflammation, cognitive aging/decline, and dementia (human)
  • Hormonal regulation of dermal and mucosal tissue repair (human)
  •  Effects of chronic stress and oxytocin on wound healing (animal)
  • Inflammatory biomarkers and stress as predictors of preterm birth (human)
  • Inflammation and depression (human)
  • Inflammation and bipolar disorder (human)
  • Salivary diagnostics (human)
