Major in Biobehavioral Health
By tackling modern-day health issues from all angles, Biobehavioral Health (BBH) students bring a unique perspective to the complex world of health care and healing.
An innovative and interdisciplinary program, BBH focuses on the interaction among biological, behavioral, psychological, sociocultural, and environmental variables that influence health. By taking coursework in chemistry, biology, physiology, and genetics, students learn the “science behind health” and how to effectively address and solve a wide array of problems related to human health and illness.
One of the first programs of its kind, Biobehavioral Health at Penn State boasts a highly successful undergraduate program, the university-wide Global Health Minor, and a novel interdisciplinary doctoral training program. The degree will either prepare you for entry-level positions in a range of biomedical and health-related areas, or place you on the path to a successful career in medicine, public health, environmental health and safety, or human services.
