AURORA Outdoor Orientation Programs employ student leaders to guide incoming students on backpacking and community service trips before they begin their Penn State experience. We look for students with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to impact incoming students.

We highly encourage all prospective AURORA leaders to take RPTM 330: Adventure-Based Program Leadership. This course takes place the first eight Thursdays of the spring semester from 6-9 p.m. and is offered to students in all majors. You’ll develop your outdoor leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and more.

For more information about working for AURORA or RPTM 330, contact Jen Emigh, AURORA Director, at 814-865-3890 or jen.emigh@psu.edu.

Apply to work with AURORA for the summer 2025 season. See the application for more information about program dates and training dates.
