Each year, the PGA Student Society manages a series of competitive golf events throughout the fall and spring semesters. The events are designed to help students become better players and meet their fellow classmates. In an effort to ensure the highest quality of events, the Student Society collects tournament dues for the year, which are used solely for the purpose of putting the each event on.

The events feature:

  • Weekly formats and tournaments supplies
  • Tournament payouts to the top eight finishers in each event
  • Food and drinks
  • Tournament prizes for each event
  • The "Wall of Champions" in the PGM office
  • Penn State representation at the PGA's Jones Cup
  • Overall tournament prizes for "Player of the Year" and "Vardon Trophy" winners.

The Tournament Series features thirteen events, including:

  • Welcome Back Tournament in September
  • Nittany Lion Open in September
  • Fall Championship (October)
  • Blue White Invitational (October)
  • Chili Open (November)
  • Ice Breaker Tournament (April)
  • PGA Fioursomes (May)
