- Advising
|
Advisers in the Center for Student Advising and Engagement are offering in-person, phone, and Zoom advising appointments. Students should schedule appointments using Starfish. Here is the quick link to log into Starfish: https://shorturl.at/fFGO3 |
A vital part of the educational process, academic advising will not only enhance your learning and development as a student, but it will also serve as a foundation for your entire educational experience.
Through in-person appointments, emails, and phone calls, your adviser will provide meaningful insights into your academic, social, and personal experiences and needs while you are a Penn State student. Armed with these insights, you’ll be able to transition to new academic and social communities, develop sound academic and career goals, and become a successful learner.
Center for Student Advising and Engagement
A central location for all things academic to support students, families, alumni, faculty, and staff at all Penn State campuses, The Center for Student Advising and Engagement assists undergraduate students in The College of Health and Human Development (HHD) with exploring educational opportunities and developing decision-making skills that will contribute to their academic, career, and life goals.
Academic advisers provide guidance and support with:
-
Course selection and success planning
-
Answering questions about university, college, major, general education requirements, and policies
-
Information on opportunities relevant to your interests and goals, including education abroad, internships, organizations/clubs, and research
-
Referrals to other campus services/offices
Health and Human Development Undergraduate Adviser and Student Handbook
The College of Health and Human Development's Undergraduate Adviser and Student Handbook is an online publication designed for use by the academic advising community and undergraduate students across all Penn State campuses. It is one of the essential tools used to help students explore the College’s undergraduate academic programs of study, and it provides advising information regarding academic policies and procedures, Current Suggested Academic Plans by major/option, and a college-wide directory of contact information.
