About Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management

Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management strives to positively impact health and wellness through recreation, park, tourism, and leisure opportunities — often affectionately referred to by many as the aspirational “bucket list” activities of their lives.
Our world-class researchers, educators, and students work with experts from a variety of disciplines to examine the global impact of leisure on human development, health, and wellness — as well as the effects of recreation and tourism on ecological, economic, and cultural systems. Though a body of research, teaching, and experiential learning that touches everything from lawmakers on Capitol Hill to the landscape of Yellowstone National Park, we influence policy-making, environmental impact, marketing strategies, and much more — and we have a good measure of fun while doing so.
