The college will be organizing opportunities to exchange parking permits throughout July for all HHD parking permit holders. The Penn State Transportation Office leads this effort every three years and the exchange applies University wide. All permit holders must return the expiring permit (labeled 2018-2021) in exchange for a new permit (labeled 2021-2024).

Notes and deadlines:

  • Expiring permits are labeled with a June 30, 2021 expiration date; however, the Transportation Office has confirmed that the permits will remain valid until Aug. 1, 2021.
  • New permits will have an expiration date of June 30, 2024.
  • All expiring permits MUST be returned, regardless of expiration date or condition, even if your plans do not include a new permit. New permits cannot be issued until the expiring permit (2018-2021) has been returned.
  • The Transportation Office will forgive ‘display violations’ for not having a permit visible in your vehicle when you are exchanging your permit (provided that you are parked in your assigned lot).
  • Everyone issued a permit will be required to review, update, and sign a new Permit Registration and Authorization form, which will be provided at the permit exchange events.
  • It is highly recommended that you access your account on the Parking Portal to review and update your address, vehicle, and license plate information, as necessary. Unregistered vehicles or vehicles not associated with a permit run the risk of receiving a parking ticket. View helpful instructions for updating this information on the Parking Portal. Contact the Parking Office at (814) 865-1436 or parking@psu.edu with questions about the portal.

Exchanging Your Permit

  1. Expiring HHD permits can be exchanged at any of the events scheduled for July.
  2. Exchange: Please approach the desk at your preferred exchange event and present the expiring 2018-21 permit.  You will be asked to review/update and sign your 2021 “Permit Registration and Authorization” form (provided at the event).  Return the signed form and receive your new 2021-24 permit.
  3. Enjoy your day!
