Major in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management
With a high-level focus on the global issues associated with human development, health, and wellness — as well as the impact of recreation and tourism on ecological, economic, and cultural systems.
Penn State’s B.S. degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (RPTM) offers a choice of four program options: Community Recreation Management, Commercial Recreation and Tourism Management, Outdoor Recreation, and Professional Golf Management.
By leveraging flexible in-depth coursework, experiential learning, international experiences, and involvement with professional organizations, you’ll gain insight into a vast body of work and study that touches everything from the lawmakers on Capitol Hill to the landscapes of our national parks. You’ll learn strategies for influencing policy-making, minimizing environmental impact, overseeing marketing efforts, and much more — and you’ll have a good deal of fun while doing so. You’ll complete the program ready to take on an advanced degree or enter an astounding variety of careers related to recreation, parks, and tourism management.
