The Penn State PGA Professional Golf Management Student Society's Women's Leadership Committee (WLC) was created by the women of the PGA PGM program, for the women of the PGA PGM program.

What is the WLC?

The Penn State PGA PGM Women's Leadership Committee (WLC) is a committee that has been in the works since Fall of 2024. Throughout the year, we hold Ladies Lunches, golf events, and have invited female guest speakers to our PGMSS Monthly Meetings.

The WLC is focused on empowering women both on and off the golf course.

We are so excited to officially call this association the Penn State PGM Women's Leadership Committee.

The Birdie Lounge

With a desire for a space of our own, and an available storage space that needed some TLC... We created The Birdie Lounge!

What is The Birdie Lounge? It's a study and meeting space for the Penn State PGA PGM women.

The Lounge is still in its completion phase, but we plan for it to be in full swing soon.

Ladies Lunches

A few times a semester, we host Ladies Lunches.

Ladies Lunches bring the women in our program together for... you guessed it, lunch! We build camaraderie with each other, talk about classes, discuss internships, and more.

There is always charcuterie and cannoli dip. Always.

Lunches also provide a time for our "veteran" women to "impart wisdom" to the younger women in our program. This helps the WLC continue and remain a valuabe part of the PGA PGM program.

We plan to have a guest speaker attend virtually for some upcoming Lunches, so stay tuned!

Guest Speakers

Grace hosted and emceed the Philadelphia PGA Women's Committee on campus during one of our PGM Student Society meetings. The Committee spoke to the entire PGA PGM program. It was really cool to have women leaders in our local golf section speak about their experiences and ways they are furthering the game of golf.

The Committee (including one of our own Alumnae, Beatrice Smith!) met with us before the meeting to have dinner and give real-world advice from their perspectives in the golf industry.
