- Professional Snowsports Certificates Enrollment
See below for instructions on how to enroll in one of Penn State's Professional Snowsports Certificates.
For questions, please contact Pete Allison (pra7@psu.edu).
Professional Snowsports Education Certificate (Level I) Enrollment
To apply for Level I Certification, visit the World Campus website to apply.
Contact Pete Allison (pra7@psu.edu) with any questions.
Professional Snowsports Leadership Certificate (Level II) Enrollment
To apply for Level II Certification, follow the below instructions.
- E-mail Pete Allison (pra7@psu.edu) with short answers to the following three questions:
- With which snowsports area will you be associated this season? We strongly encourage applicants to either volunteer or be employed at a ski or snowboard school.
- In which skiing or riding discipline (e.g., alpine, snowboard, cross country, or telemark) do you have experience, and how would you describe your ability? What kinds of runs can you comfortably complete?
- As part of one of the required courses for this certificate, you must successfully complete an in-person, on-snow assessment. Additional information about this assessment is provided below. To complete your application, please tell us which assessment you intend to take (resort and dates). Note that you can search for assessments on the Professional Ski Instructors of America and American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) website.
- Complete the Non-Degree Enrollment Form:
- Section 1. Ignore PSU ID field – this will be given to you once enrolled
- Section 2. Campus Location – select ‘World Campus’
- "Are you currently in an academic drop status from Penn State or any other college or university previously enrolled?" - select NO
- "Are you planning to take courses to earn a degree?" - select NO
- IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANY ASPECTS OF COMPLETING THIS FORM, E-MAIL World Campus (registrar@worldcampus.psu.edu)
- It typically takes 2-3 days to process applications. Once processed you will receive an e-mail detailing:
- How to activate your Penn State Access Account
- How to use LionPATH to complete your next steps
Contact Pete Allison (pra7@psu.edu) with any questions.
