The Diet and Cardiometabolic Health Laboratory is currently conducting the following studies to understand the role of food, bioactives, and dietary patterns in delaying and preventing the onset of cardiometabolic diseases.

Cardiovascular effects of healthy diets containing eggs

This is a nutrition study examining if a healthy diet containing two eggs per day has equivalent or non-different effects on risk factors for heart disease as a healthy diet containing three eggs per week.

The effects of healthy diets with plant oils on heart and metabolic health

This is a nutrition study examining the effect of a healthy diet containing cottonseed oil on biomarkers of heart and metabolic health compared to other commonly consumed plant oils.
