Whether we’re drilling down into metabolic disorders, learning more about the causes of diabetes, or gaining insight into risk factors for weight gain and obesity, Penn State’s world-class researchers in Nutritional Sciences are consistently uncovering new insights and discoveries.

Led by a commitment to contribute real value to the industry-wide understanding of health promotion and disease prevention research, our departmental research initiatives span topics related to communication and education on nutrition-related diseases, epidemiological and population science, food behaviors, gerontology and maternal/child development, the role of vitamins and supplements, and a broad array of related areas of interest.
